Tuesday Night Opry 7/24 & Wednesday Night Opry 7/25

The Grand Ole Opry has posted the line-ups for the 2 mid-week shows. The quality of the line-ups are pretty good. Tuesday night, Lorrie Morgan returns to the Opry. What is sad about Lorrie is that we are into July and this is only her 2nd Opry appearance this year. Also joining her will be former Statler Brother Jimmy Fortune, who always does a nice job. Wednesday night will feature a half hour with Rascal Flatts. There is no television taping this week, so the format will be normal both nights.

Tuesday July 24:
7:00: Diamond Rio; The Whites
7:30: Jimmy Fortune; Edens Edge
Intermission
8:15: Chuck Mead & His Grassy Knoll Boys; The Grascals
8:45: John Conlee; Lorrie Morgan

Wednesday July 25:
7:00: Jim Ed Brown; Canaan Smith
7:30: Exile; Steel Magnolia
Intermission
8:15: T.G.Sheppard; Lauren Alaina
8:45: Rascal Flatts

  1. Great line up.

I could see The Grascals, Jimmy Fortune, Exile and T.G. Sheppard all being a great addition as Opry members. They all seem to be favorites among the fans. Hope that happens for them all someday.

But on the other hand and could see some trouble with making some "group" acts members. Staff changes within the group over the years could lead to another "4 Guys" incident.

Once the original members of a group are gone, I admit, it just doesn't seem the same.

  2. I am proud of Rascal Flatts. They're big time, but they manage to appear on the 'Opry quite regularly and seem to be happy to be there. I guarantee the crowd will be bigger Wednesday with them there.

  3. Absolutely fabulous Wednesday night Opry. Sold out including standing room only tickets. Friday night was sold out except a few seats stage right and left. The Blue Grass series at the Ryman on Thursday featuring Ricky Skaggs had only a few seats stage right left on Wednesday morning.

  4. Wednesday night 'Opry sounded great on the radio.
Lauren Alaina (17 years old) sang a Kitty Wells tribute before joining Rascal Flatts in the closer. The crowd seemed to really be getting into it. I enjoyed it.
I was skeptical of the Wednesday show, but this could be a winner.
Big crowds come as no surprise when Rascal Flatts is on the card. Good for them!

  5. The Opry has been drawing better lately. Bigger names seem to be coming out and appearing, which always helps. They have added a 2nd show on the night Carrie Underwood is appearing and I am sure they will do the same for Keith Urban's appearance. Let's hope it continues.

  6. Does anyone know the song name that Exile performed last? It was amazing.
