Tuesday Night Opry 8/29

The Tuesday Night Opry for this week is split into just two segments with only six artists. I don't think anyone can complain.

7:00: Bill Anderson; Linda Davis; Rascal Flatts
Intermission
8:15: Del McCoury Band; Vince Gill; Chris Young

Nice to see Chris back on the Opry. He has been making a few appearances lately.

  1. GOOD LORD WHAT A LINE UP!!!!
I know some people don't like it when there are only a few artists, but this is a perfect show! It'll sell out, every single artist is well known, and they'll all get more than 2 songs! I hope they do shows like this with these kind of names far FAR more often! I'm seriously so excited for this!

  3. OK, that settles it.
Mark Wills DESERVES to be a member of the 'Opry.
Had no idea he had that kind of a range...

    1. Nat, by his own admission recently on the Opry stage, Mark Wills said that his first song "Jacob's Ladder" was as country as he gets - so for him to sing one of my very favorite Vince Gill songs, full throttle, doing a great job of a great song with the composer standing a foot or two away. Not a huge fan of Mark Wills, but he did a great job on that song. Maybe he should consider a more "country" career .... it suits his voice.

  4. We have a new Grand Ole Opry member as Vince Gill asked Chris Young to become the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry. Happened tonight on the Tuesday Night Opry.

    1. Just watched the live stream. I hope he will be dedicated as a member. That makes 3 for 2017. Seeing some changes with new management.

  5. And I kept looking at the line-up list since last week asking WHY is Vince Gill on stage second to last? He ALWAYS closes out every Opry show he is on - then I'm seeing six performers vs the normal eight - I was thinking instead of 8/15 minute performances, we would get 6/20 minute performances - well that didn't happen either and now we know why.

Congratulations to Chris Young. I am very happy for him. No induction date - there usually is.

    1. Thanks for the induction date, Byron. Apparently I wasn't the only one wondering why Chris Young was the last performer on last night's Opry show, so was he; the answer right in front of me, but I'm thinking about another guy named Chris that would go in before this Chris - and Vince gave us a hint when he said something about celebrations tonight. Vince sure was smooth in his invitation. The Opry always does a "gotcha" with their creativity on how they invite new members, each and every invitation is different from all of the others.

Will you be going to this induction?

    2. No, with it being so close to the birthday weekend, which I will be going to, it just makes it hard to go back down. Dang, there are times when I wished I lived closer to Nashville and this is one of those.

    3. Oh that's right the Birthday Bash weekend on 10/7 & 8, the line-up is looking good with more to be added ... and Byron, there are so many times when I wished I lived in Nashville period ~ :-)
