Of the 11, 8 are over the age of 70, counting Connie Smith, who will be 70 in August, and considering Buck White of The Whites, who is over 80. I applaud these older artists for continuing on the Opry, but it also shows that problems that the Opry still has in getting their younger members to appear on the show on a regular basis.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6344993590139159352.post-48075255937928897052011-06-24T12:46:11.185-04:002011-06-24T12:46:11.185-04:00Historically, the summer was always the worst time...Historically, the summer was always the worst time in terms of seeing Opry members at the show because they were on the road. But I think it's funny and worrisome: for all that Pete Fisher has done to make older acts feel unwelcome, the youngest segment host this Saturday is 74-year-old Ray Pillow.

On Glen Campbell: very sad indeed, and we tend to forget just how big he was from the late 1960s into the 1980s.Michaelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01998867386294693956noreply@blogger.com
