Grand Ole Opry on NBC Nightly News
Just a note that the Grand Ole Opry House is being featured in a story on NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams tonight. Brad Paisley will be the guide for the story.
I missed this tonight, but on the nbcnews website they have a 10 min piece of Paisley on the Opry stage. I don't know if they showed much on the Nightly News, but they don't show a lot of the damage on the 10min clip, mostly just a interview. It is at http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/37115999/ns/nightly_news/
The news showed about the same thing as the video clip. I saw no seats in the lower auditorium, all the carpet taken up. The wood stage was gone with just the cement floor. The backdrop looked like it was not all there. And, everything was still dirty.(from what I could see).
Just looking at it, from what they showed, I still think that the Opry is at least 3 months away from returning.
Thanks for the heads up on this. Glad to hear Brad say he and his generation are going to step up and make sure the tradition continues. So sorry to hear the Jimmy Dickens lost so much. I notice he's not on the lineup this weekend. Hopefully he won't get too discouraged. He's an important link to the past at the Opry.
