The Grand Ole Opry has posted the line-up for the shows this weekend. Again, the Opry will be at the Ryman Auditorium for 1 show on Friday night and 1 show on Saturday night. I will say that Jimmy Dickens sounded pretty good again last night. And it was kind of funny when Del McCoury forgot the words during his 1st number. It happens even to the best of them.
ReplyDeleteI got to hear the whole show, and I was glad that Mike Snider talked a bit about Earl White and Charlie Collins and their backgrounds. I wish he'd mentioned that Earl was the last fiddler for the Crook Brothers, too.
ReplyDeleteThe Potato sounded pretty good, and I think the only person who never forgot a word to a song was Mr. Acuff, known to recording engineers as "One Take Ake," although Mr. Snow cheated a bit by putting the words out there.
