Here are the line-ups for the Tuesday Night Opry and Wednesday Night Opry for this coming week.
Tuesday August 7
7:00: Wynonna; Jimmy Dickens; Brett Eldredge
Intermission
8:15: Jana Kramer; Vince Gill; The Time Jumpers; The Band Perry
Wednesday August 8
7:00: John Conlee; Greg Bates
7:30: Gene Watson; Steve Wariner
Intermission
8:15: Riders In The Sky; Elizabeth Cook
8:45: Rodney Atkins
Again, as with the past several weeks, 2 very nice mid-week shows. The way the Tuesday show is set up, I would not be surprised if it involved a GAC taping for their Opry show. I know they have done it in the past.
Great lineups both nights. Gene Watson and Steve Wariner - back to back - now that sounds real good to me.
ReplyDeleteFred in Bismarck:
ReplyDeleteWatson & Wariner -- two solid ones, for sure, who shine even brighter in the rearview mirror. They are two who took the country tradition and did their own thing with it without doing violence to the format. (I played a Wariner single only Saturday night, "Life's Highway," from the '80s sometime, wow.) They're among the last who gave us the best of both worlds -- originality, innovation, something new but in the context we all could recognize as country.
Bless 'em.
With Vince Gill on the Tuesday Night Opry this week, I thought it would be a good time to look back, as on August 10, 1991, Vince became a member of the Grand Ole Opry. This will be his 21st year as a member. With Vince not scheduled for Friday or Saturday night, I thought this would be a good time to post the line-up from the night he joined the Opry.
