Tuesday Night Opry 2/20

The lineup has been posted for the Tuesday night show and it is not too bad. Grand Ole Opry members Crystal Gayle, Don Schlitz, Gary Mule Deer and Riders In The Sky are scheduled, as is T. Graham Brown, who should be an Opry member. Meanwhile, The Wilder Blue will be making their Opry debut.

Tuesday February 20
7:00: T. Graham Brown, Corb Lund, Crystal Gayle, Don Schlitz
Intermission
8:15: Sierra Ferrell, Gary Mule Deer, The Wilder Blue, Riders In The Sky

As mentioned, this will be the Opry debut for The Wilder Blue. The group has been around since 2019 and consists of primary frontman Zane Williams, Paul Eason, drummer Lyndon Hughes and bassist Sean Rodriguez, and Andy Rogers. Their music is described as "rock influenced country."

  1. Anyone here know what it takes to get a song for radio labeled with an FCC warning?

  2. I know we all get frustrated that Reba has had a hard time finding the Opry House since 1986, I've been as vocal as anyone here. I must say she did a nice and respectable job with the National Anthem before the ball game the other night and I would underline the word respectable. No political gestures or statements, just straight forward and understandable without breaking her voice or anything. They even introduced her as Reba McIntire and not just Reba. I'm not a football fan. Surprised nobody mentioned it here.

  3. Breaking News!

I just read minutes ago, on the Grand Ole Opry's Facebook page, that earlier today Vince Gill invited T. Graham Brown to be the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry!

Congratulations to the great T. Graham Brown ... so happy for you! Been waiting for a while for you to be invited!!!

No induction date ... heck, the Opry just made "the date" to induct Scotty McCreery a few days ago, can't rush this anymore. What's up with the long wait between Invitation to Induction all of a sudden??

    1. Jeanene, you beat me on this breaking news!! This has been long overdue and very happy. T. Graham has shown that he will support the Opry and will be someone that will do the Opry proud.

    2. Jeanene, I would guess that the Opry has to work around the artist’s schedule. I’m sure they don’t purposefully wait a long time to schedule the inductions.

    3. Byron, I didn't mean to scoop you ... I was sitting here just minding my own darned business when I clicked onto FB and there it was, right in front of me.

I was like WAIT! WHAT!?!? Where's this coming from??? Why don't I know about this? Where's the video?? LOL ... so very happy for T. I am very happy for him, this is long overdue and I am pretty darned sure T. will be a most excellent Opry member.

@Anonymous, while I totally agree with you, it would be so much better if the Opry worked around the artist's schedules behind the scenes before they do the invitation ... then the induction doesn't seem like it's two years down the road.

    4. Oh and I meant to say it will be great to hear what he has to say tonight since he will kick the Tuesday Night Opry show off ... as Charlie Mattos would say "in fine fashion." :-)

And just for you Byron, you said T. should be an Opry member and voila! He now is ...

  7. I love to see this! Years ago, he was on the opry, and did a song called "Wine into Water." It helped my Mom deal with my Father's alcoholism. This is long over due! To be a bit honest though, I wonder if we
re on the way as the opry was described in the 80s, as a living museum. T. was great, in the 80s before I was born, and I'm far more triditional than the generation after me.

    1. The last two artists invited before T currently have songs on the top 40. Ashley McBryde, Lauren Alaina, and Carly Pearce also became members in the past 4 years. I don't always love the specific picks, but the Opry's done a really good job of picking new members from various styles and eras over the past few years.

I'm elated for T Graham. He'll be a great member.

  8. I am personally not real happy with the sub-par talent level and the genres of music many guests who perform on the 'Opry give us from week to week.

But I am personally very happy with the recent invites to become members. T, Mandy, Rhonda, Carly, Lauren, Ashley. What's not to like there?
