Once again, no specific running order for the mid-week shows. So, we go with what I have:
Tuesday night will be a very special night at the Opry as Opry 100 Honors Charley Pride. Appearing on the show to honor Charley's music and legacy are Opry members Darius Rucker and Pam Tillis. Also scheduled to appear are Charley's son, Dion Pride, The War and Treaty, Tony Jackson, The Malpass Brothers and Neal McCoy.
The Wednesday Night Opry features members The Whites, The Isaacs and Dailey & Vincent. Hall of Fame member Jimmy Fortune is scheduled, as are Wade Bowen, Laci Kaye Booth, Drew Baldridge and Young the Giant, who are making their Opry debut.
Finally, Opry Country Classics features Ashley McBryde as the Spotlight Artist. Larry Gatlin is back as the host, along with The Gatlin Brothers, John Foster, The Malpass Brothers, and a true country music legend, Dickie Lee. By the way, Dickie turned 90 this week.
Neal McCoy has been invited to be the next member of the Grand Ole Opry
ReplyDeleteIt was a very nice Opry Honors Charley Pride show last night. Of course, the big surprise was Neal McCoy being invited to become a member of the Grand Ole Opry. Neal has been appearing on the Opry for decades, so I have no issue with the invite. It adds one more veteran performer to the cast. The only surprising aspect of the invite is that we now have 3 soon-to-be Opry members waiting for their induction. This has never happened in the history of the show. Congratulations to Neal.
ReplyDeleteAny man who has leads the nation in the pledge of allegiance on facebook every day for over 10 years is OK with me.
ReplyDeleteFrom WSM's facebook: "3912th day in a row! September 22 2026 Live at the WSM 650 AM studio in Nashville, TN!"
LIttle did Neal McCoy know what lay in store for him just a few hours later at the 'Opry!
And I am thrilled that the 'Opry is adding more solid country music performers to the list of members.
