Tuesday Night Opry 9/13 & Opry Country Classics 9/15

The Tuesday Night Opry this week is promising to be a special night as Lukas Nelson, Molly Tuttle and Ashley McBryde will highlight the final hour. While I have no specific information, I would not be surprised if the final hour was not taped for a future broadcast on Circle TV.

If there is a negative regarding this night, it would be that Riders In The Sky are the only members listed are on schedule and they will be opening the show.

Tuesday September 13
7:00: Riders In The Sky, Morgan Wade, Dom Flemons, Maggie Rose
Intermission
8:15: Lukas Nelson & The Promise of the Real, Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway, Ashley McBryde

Opry Country Classics on Thursday night looks like another solid show as Opry member Mark Wills is listed on the schedule, as is Exile.

Thursday September 15
Host: Larry Gatlin
Also Appearing: The Gatlin Brothers, Mark Wills, Exile, Maggie Rose, Country Current

  1. The first episode of " Monarch " was promising, especially because there was at least as much real country music in this one show as there was on the entire 4 hours of the Opry Saturday night --- Dashmann - Flushing, Michigan

  2. I’ve noticed in the last year that Country Johnny Mathis’s music has been on a couple of movies, tv commercials, and a couple tv sitcoms. He passed away a few years ago and it’s a good thing that a lot of people are interested in hearing more of his music. I’ll have to catch the Monarch show. Curry

  4. Rhonda Vincent is my hero. Is it just me, or don't female 'Opry members seem to care about showing up than most male members?

    1. Well shoot, I like Dom Flemons a LOT.
Hoping he would be asked to be a member some day.

  7. You know, these so called "members" only showing up once or not at all, and are in perfectly healthy conditions need to be removed from the cast. People who have been made Opry Members recently take it more seriously and have made more appearances than these so called "members" have even before the pandemic. The only members that get a pass are those veteran members, who are over 80, not in good health, and supported the Opry during their time making teh required appearances. If the appearances are 10, which supposedly they are, then some people need to step up. If they removed the stipulated number, then change the rule to: If teh artist does not show up at least 2 times in a year, the artist is stripped of their membership. period.

  8. Yes, Don Flemons would be a great Opry Member, and I would like to see Jo El Sonnier made one as well. All genres of country music need to be covered.

  10. Another excellent Tuesday Night Opry.

I really dig Lucas Nelson, let's set aside the fact how much he really sounds like his dad, I so enjoy his music, every song has its own groove to it. I can also say the same thing about Molly Tuttle and Maggie Rose (who appears again tomorrow night - yay!) both are so, so good. Our gal Rhonda Vincent stepped in for Don Flemons, I was sorry to read that he was unable to appear, I hope all is well in Arizona this morning. I dig him too. So much great music by terrific artists.

I would enjoy hearing much more Cajun music. It seems that Cajun music started & ended with Jimmy C. Newman. There are many artists out there that we are not hearing.

Fast forwarding here ... Opry Country Classics has another good line-up but we are in for a treat Saturday night with Chapel Hart making their Grand Ole Opry debut. While I do not watch America's Got Talent, I watched performance video's, another trio that is very good. Their "You Can Have Him, Jolene" is very good. I am sure Byron will have much more to say about these ladies. And Jamey Johnson appears again on Tuesday, as always I am looking forward to his appearance.

Enjoy all the Opry shows everyone ~

  11. Do not ask, because I am not sure, how I absolutely failed to mention just how terrific Ashley McBryde was last night; I dig her & have since she broke out several years ago. Terrific voice, very good music. Maybe she will be able to get to the Opry stage again before the end of the year.
